LAS vision is to build a world-class ambulance service for a world-class city: London’s primary integrator of access to urgent and emergency care – on scene, on phone and online
Biggest ambulance service in the world
London Ambulance Service (LAS) is the UK capital’s ambulance service and the biggest ambulance service in the world. They are central to the emergency response to major incidents and terrorist threats in the capital and they work closely with hospitals and other healthcare professionals, as well as with the other emergency services.
LAS has over 5700 employees, operates 1150 ambulances out of which 450 vans and 30 motorbikes, all vehicles are Euro6, and they operate out of 60+ depots across London.
For 20 of their depots, where they clean and stock all vehicles every day, LAS wanted to add fueling infrastructure to achieve all in one place service. Out of the 20 depots, 6 were already equipped with tanks so these depots needed to be upgraded with fuel management, and the other 14 depots will ask for a complete new fuel installation. There was also interest in automatic vehicle identification taking into account that vehicles are in service for 5 years on average
